The Milwaukee Bonecrushers fell just short Sunday afternoon at The U.S. Cellular Arena with a 43-42 loss to the Miami Valley Silverbacks. After a slow start and being down as much as 43-14 at one point they clawed their way back.
The second half was owned by the Bonecrushers by shutting Miami down for the last 22 minutes and scoring the games final 28 points.
The second half swing started for the Bonecrushers on an 33 yard interception return for a touchdown by linebacker James Cichon who snatched a pass out of the air from Silverback quarterback George Murray.
The Bonecrusher offense, led by second half touchdowns by running back Brian Sylvas and receivers Dorian Palmer and Jim Leszczynski fought back from the 29 point deficit. The late surge was not enough to overcome, despite battling back within one point with one minute remaining.
Bonecrushers QB Cody Craig threw for four touchdowns on the day that the Bonecrushers dedicated the game to teammate Jamie Isome. Isome suffered a concussion two weeks ago after hitting his head on the field in Marion Ohio. Subsequent evaluation let to the discovery of a brain tumor was surgically removed a few days later.
